When you improve your diet you not only eat, feel and look good, but you’ll feel happy. Consuming a healthy diet means to eat a balance of proteins, carbohydrates and good fats. Not improving your diet can contribute to stress, being overweight, hypertension, poor concentration, high cholesterol, tiredness and can impair your ability to function daily at an energized level.

In addition, you can put yourself at risk of developing more serious illnesses such as tooth decay, nutritional deficiencies, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, cancer and osteoporosis. An unhealthy diet means consuming foods that are highly processed like white flour, white sugar, fatty greasy foods that are high in saturated fats and drinking too much alcohol.

THINGS YOU CAN DO:

  1. Create a plan of action by setting realistic short-term goals of regularly preparing nutritious balanced meals.
  2. Include more green leafy vegetables and fruits, whole grains and good fats that can be found in foods like extra-virgin olive oil and avocados.
  3. Reduce fat, salt and sugar intake.
  4. Drink plenty of water.
  5. Keep track of how much you eat and don’t over eat.

When you feel you want one more serving of food, that’s the serving you should not have.

By improving your diet, you eat good, you feel good and you look good.
